President, Gavin Ruotolo
Mr. Ruotolo has extensive experience in the development, construction and management of all facets of multi-family residential as well as commercial properties. He has been directly involved in real estate development since the early 1970's. Since that time period, he has created a substantial and diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and retail properties throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Florida. Mr. Ruotolo's past civic involvement includes serving on the Town of Scarborough's Conservation Committee, assisting in the creation of the Scarborough Chamber of Commerce, membership on the Greater Portland Regional Chamber Traffic and Infrastructure Committee as well as sponsorship of several educational and athletic activities throughout Southern Maine. Among other Vero activities, Mr. Ruotolo currently serves on the Executive Board of The Moorings Yacht Club.
Director, George O'Malley
Mr. O'Malley is a long-term resident of Vero Beach and has served on the county's Tourism Board as well as having been involved with both the Art Museum and the Riverside Playhouse. In addition to his service with the Wheels & Keels Foundation, Inc., he is currently Commodore of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs. In 2011 he successfully established The Darby Fine Arts Gallery in Vero's Gallery District. Unfortunately, operations were curtailed due to a significant family medical emergency. In 2008 - 2009 Mr. O'Malley was Chief Financial Officer for the Hibiscus Children's Center. Mr. O'Malley had a long and productive career with the Proctor and Gamble Company rising from a Team Co-Leader position to Associate Director of Finance and Marketing for the Worldwide Research unit of that company. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Organizational Development & Finance from the University of Cincinnati. He also attended Indiana University, studying in Chemistry and Zoology.
Secretary, George Bryant
In addition to serving on the board of the Wheels & Keels Foundation, Inc. Mr. Bryant is a member of the Executive Board of The Moorings Yacht Club. He is also President of the Brown University Club of the Treasure Coast, Inc. He previously served for five years as President of The Moorings of Vero Property Owner's Association, Inc. which represents 1,200 families in The Moorings area of Vero Beach. Mr. Bryant is a graduate of Brown University and Columbia Law School. He worked as an associate with a major New York law firm then as an officer with New York Life Insurance Company in the areas of investments and real estate. He subsequently worked as an officer with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in both investments and real estate as well as heading up the legal teams for its securities lending and compliance programs.
Vice President, Vince Deturris
Mr. Deturris is a graduate of Pace University and began his working career with the Carnation/Nestle Food Company in 1965. His career there spanned 35 years in areas of marketing, sales, new product development and distribution. After retiring from Carnation/Nestle he became Vice President of Marketing and Sales of an internet company (DEXI.com) in south Florida. After moving to Vero Beach he became one of the founders of XETREAM, Inc. a company involved in X-Ray systems that could detect many hazardous materials. After leaving that company (real retirement) he was a Board member of the South Beach Property Owners Association and was also active in several committee functions with The Moorings Yacht & Country Club.
Director, Gordy Sulcer
Mr. Sulcer has over 38 years of advertising, sales management, marketing and entrepreneurial experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and real estate industries. After working in various advertising and marketing firms, in 1984 he launched his entrepreneurial career with the purchase and subsequent revitalization of New Jersey's oldest and largest marina located in Point Pleasant, NJ. In addition, Mr. Sulcer is the founder of First Choice Marketing, LLC, a sports marketing sponsorship agency. Mr. Sulcer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Williams College and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Treasurer, Martin Alger
Mr. Alger worked in the moving and storage industry for twenty-seven years with the firm of Morgan Manhattan then seventeen years with Day and Meyer, Murray and Young, Inc. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He retired in 2011 and moved to Vero Beach in 2015. He was widowed in 2011 and has four children and eight grandchildren. His hobbies include golf, shooting, fishing and reading.
